Joining forces to promote biodiversity
Increasing the number of native plants in the ground to improve biodiversity is a shared vision of Wodonga based Our Native Garden Nursery (ONG) and TreeProject and this common goal has been the driving force in a recent exciting collaboration.
We’re thrilled to share that TreeProject has partnered with ONG Nursery, allowing us to broaden our reach into North East Victoria. We’ve been eager to connect with regional markets and attract more volunteer growers, and thanks to this collaboration, this goal has become a reality!
Many thanks to Megan and Peter at ONG Nursery, who have kindly offered ONG Nursery as a distribution hub for TreeProject grower kits. This move is expected to help TreeProject grow further beyond Melbourne, opening up an extensive pool of potential growers and landholders in the North East region.
The partnership will see TreeProject deliver kits to the Wodonga-based nursery, including soil, seeds, smoke, tubes, boxes, and instructions, and also provide training to growers on the same day as the kit pickup. The initiative will assist in driving landholder orders and grower engagement.
Taking on the role of distribution point, ONG Nursery will be the original drop-off point for the kits, where growers can pick them up. Growers will then deliver the seedlings back to ONG Nursery, which will perform quality control before the seedlings are picked up by landholders.
Shared vision + Collaboration = Increased number of native plants in the ground across Victoria TOGETHER!
